The more often he feels without acting, the less he will be able ever to act, and, in the long run, the less he will be able to feel. ― C.S. Lewis
The Ananda Kurjana Ashram and Children’s Home in Indonesia is not commercial. They don’t have a brochure or a social media fundraising page, they are not a dot org, nor do they send signed photos of the kids you are helping when you donate.
Dada Sutapananda, the monk in charge, explained to us that he has no expectations of even a thank you from the children he is raising. He is not remotely concerned with the children remembering him or honoring him in the future. His only goals are their safety, joy, and happiness.
After spending time in his presence, there is no question his life is selflessly and joyfully about serving his purpose, and the results are astounding. On an island peppered with luxury resorts charging upwards of $20,000 for a 7-day vacation, Dada responsibly feeds, houses, clothes, educates, and parents 30 children for $20,000 a year! There is a small bakery and a water purification business that fund simple, rustic structures for the kids to sleep, and the uniforms and supplies they need for school. Everything else is based on completely organic donations. They leave themselves open to receive from people like us who connect with this magnificent place and want to help.
To commemorate our three-year anniversary since we left the USA to wander the globe with our children, we are deepening the purpose of our journey, and we need your help!
Between now and December 31st, 2016, we are giving 50% of the profits from every Livit sale to the Ananda Kurjana Ashram and Children’s Home in Indonesia. As a Livology community, if we sell 2,000 Livit subscriptions by year-end, we can support Dada’s work in awe-inspiring ways.
If you simply share this drive in whatever way you are inspired, you are contributing. If you are compelled to purchase the Livits for yourself or purchase our NEW Gift Livits for family members, friends, and business associates, you will benefit by:
- Receiving and/or giving the Livit practice every weekday via email
- Taking part in feeding, clothing, housing, and sending orphans we know personally to the school
- Gaining automatic entrance into a drawing to win a Relaxing Weekend Getaway in your neck of the woods. We will enter you once every time you purchase a LIVIT PRODUCT. The more Livit subscriptions you buy, the more chances you have to win. We will announce the winner on New Year’s Day.
The Ananda Kurjana Ashram and Children’s Home is abundant in so many ways. There are papayas and coconuts dripping from the trees on this five-acre corner of Indonesia. Children are meditating; setting intentions of love not just for themselves, but for our world. It is working. We were there. It is undeniably the most abundantly loving place we have ever lived and it is powerful.
In addition to overwhelming spiritual abundance, there is always a need for financial donations. On top of the operating costs, Dada has dreams of building the girls a dormitory where they can sleep under one roof, expanding the garden for the benefit of not just the orphans but the community, and continuing to offer vocational training to the older kids as they move from childhood into their adult life.
What is the return on your investment? We don’t send receipts or magnets for the fridge about the child you helped, but we can guarantee that we will deliver the funds raised into the very hands of a man who will use it in ways that improve the human condition in monumental ways.
We also offer our experience of living, meditating, sleeping under the stars, cooking, cleaning, eating, learning, and playing with each of the children who will directly benefit from your donation. Since they have little to no administrative costs, every penny will go toward their care and their powerful mantra that sends waves of compassion for the well-being of all mankind into the world.
As if that wasn’t enough, you, a family member, friend, or business associate will receive practices that will help you and/or them live more deliberately each day. They look a little something like this:
Today I deliberately give something without expectation.
- As you go about your day, do things for others that are inspired and for which you feel no need to be thanked or even noticed.
- Start small and test your need for recognition. Hold the door for someone or smile at a stranger.
- Regardless of their response, focus on your loving actions and watch how many loving actions flood your experience.
Today I deliberately give something without expectation, even if it is just a smile because I know the return on my investment is guaranteed.
We are excited to continue to share stories and photos from this magnetic corner of the globe. We will update you on our fundraising progress.
If you act now by purchasing a one-year Livit subscription for yourself, and a Gift Livit for someone special, you will be providing food, clothing, shelter, and school funds for one of Dada’s orphans for an entire month!
