Are you ready to Livit? Mindfulness practices are a huge part of our study of living deliberately each day. As this is the week we celebrate Thanksgiving in the USA, we thought we would pair five Livit affirmations, with photos from our travels where we felt the awareness profoundly.
- Monday: Mindful of Your Daily Routine
- Tuesday: Mindful of Yourself
- Wednesday: Mindful of Your Past
- Thursday: Mindful of Others
- Friday: Mindful of Nature
Experiment with recalling images from your year that illustrate and affirm your feelings of gratitude each day. You will feel more present during this busy time by just reflecting for 60 seconds every day.
The image above was the snapshot we selected for Mindful of our Daily Routine. It was taken in Forte dei Marmi, Italy. We selected it because it was one of the few places we lived long enough to establish a daily routine. Because we had been traveling quickly leading up to this moment, we appreciated morning walks, trips to the market, and even homework with a renewed sense of appreciation for daily activities that anchor us in this world.
The image above was the snapshot we selected for Mindful of Ourselves. It was taken on Oahu at Lani Kai. We selected it because it was a masterful landscape for reflection. We each went our own direction, found a favorite spot, and thought about everything and nothing. There was peace at the moment that we have only felt a handful of times.
The image above was the snapshot we selected for Mindful of Our Past. It was taken the day we arrived in Niagra Falls. We selected it because our 10,000-mile road-trip in the USA was about visiting our families after two years in Europe. We thought it was the perfect opportunity to show our kids the backroads of our beautiful country that led us right to stunning landmarks that make up our Nation’s history.
The image above was the snapshot we selected for Mindful of Others. It was taken at a horse property we stayed in Sweden. We selected it because it was representative of one of the many moments we have connected with people the world over. We are always amazed that people stop their daily routine to show us new things or favorite places. From cooking lessons in Slovenia, fishing in New Zealand, to helping a pizzeria in the Alps, there is an abundance of kindness in this world.
The image above was the snapshot we selected for Mindful of Nature. It was taken at Lake Bled in Slovenia. We selected it because it was one of the most rustic, naturally beautiful, humble yet dramatic landscapes we spent time exploring. From the gorge hikes to plummeting lakes, we felt connected to each other as a family in a new and visceral way.
We would love it if you shared these mindfulness practices with someone …
